We invite you to base your Central North Island stay with us in Taupo. Discover this amazing region on day trips and return in the evening to your own comfortable bed and home away from home.

'Above the Lake' is a modern home, situated in central Taupo to capture glorious sunsets over the Lake. Evening drinks are enjoyed in the main lounge or on the balcony that overlooks the sparkling waters of Lake Taupo and the night lights of Taupo town. Enjoy a glass of crisp New Zealand wine on the garden deck or while taking a dip in the spa pool. In the winter, after a hard day's skiing on Mt. Ruapehu, curl up with a book in front of the fire or watch those favourite sports on Sky TV. Each guest suite does have its own lounge, but guests are welcome to use the main lounge as well.

Wireless internet access available in each suite. Laundry and ironing facilities are also available.

Where else in the world can you have your own catch hot smoked for breakfast. Many of our guests say, Taupo trout is the best, and they all love our recipe. (please refer to the fishing/cruising page for more information on fishing.)

Golf

Taupo has several great golf courses, including the Wairakei and Kinloch courses as well as the two courses at Taupo Golf Club, both of which will give you a challenging game. We are able to provide clubs for your use.

A day driving trip starting and ending in Taupo. Stunning scenery, scenic walks, close encounters with the three big volcanoes. Mts Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro.
